Finally Some Flowers

My macro photography skills are a little rusty due to the lack of practice.  Finally we have some flowers in our yard–yesterday I looked for violets and dandelions, and could find neither.  Today, several are blooming.  I got my first insect on a flower photograph of the year today–this small bee on a violet.

Kind of refreshing to the soul.

Note:  Bugguide identified this as a small carpenter bee, Ceratina calcarata.

What a beautiful photograph. May I ask what camera and lens you use for these great macro shots?

  4. The little critter you captured is obviously “liking it,” too!
