This Guy Won’t Slow Down

We have a little pond on our property.  It is really too shallow to keep fish in, so it is more of a wetland.

Yesterday there were fifty or a hundred dragonflies flying around the pond–at least half a dozen species.

This is called a twelve-spot skimmer, Libellula pulchella.   If you counted the white spots you would have to call it a twenty-spot skimmer.

This is a fast moving dragonfly that never seems to stop and rest.
