A Little Bit of Winter

This has been an unusually mild winter for Iowa.   January saw a number of days with highs in the 50 degree F range.  We have had a little bit of snow, but not much.

Today it snowed.  It snowed a lot, but the snow is light and is not blowing around.  The temperatures are around freezing so it is actually quite pleasant.

Here is a snow-covered bird-bath.

The seed head of this purple coneflower has a new hat.
