The term “Charismatic megafauna” refers to large wildlife that everyone wants to conserve. Polar bears, moose, bison–all are charismatic megafauna.
I ran across some of the less charismatic and less mega fauna on our place today.
Here is a small group of white-tailed deer.
And a pair of Canada geese.
I like them, but I kind of like the insects better.
Don’t ask me why.
Non-charismatic? Surely not.
I like the sky behind your canada geese
They are charismatic. But they are “game” species that have benefitted from too much favorable management.
