An Eastern Amberwing

Here is a photograph I took Saturday of an eastern amberwing, Perithemis tenera.  This is a male.

Also, for your entertainment, I thought I would add a wood-tick count to my postings.  I know it would make more sense to start at the beginning of the year,  but I didn’t think about it then.  I have been getting wood-ticks crawling on me for the past several nights so I think it is about time to keep track of the number.  I will keep track of the number starting today, July 11,  2012.  Gotta start sometime.

So far, the number is one.  But I just have that feeling that there will be more before the night is over.
