Looking for Inspiration

I am not a musician but I often think that being a photographer is a lot like being a musician.  You do it for reasons that aren’t readily apparent to others.  You have to practice often.  Often you specialize–maybe you only like jazz, or if you are a photographer you mostly only do macro.

As a photographer, I find myself taking photos often.  Tonight I wandered around and took about 30.  Sometimes I find myself really inspired by what I see.  Tonight I was not–I just muddled through.

This was probably my best shot of the night–an ant tending to a treehopper nymph.  I have photographed the same species before, sometimes with better results.

But I got some practice.  Maybe tomorrow night I will be more inspired.
