Like a Wet Car

This morning I took some photos of some shiny black beetles on a New England aster flower.

I was surprised to see the reflections of the flower’s petals in the beetles.

  1. Great pics. These are Shining Flower Beetles, family Phalacridae.

    • Thanks. I know some of the creatures I photograph by name, but there are so many I don’t know. I always like to notice something new–something that has always been there, but I have not really seen.
