I Hope You Aren’t Tired of Bee Flies Yet…

Because I’m not.  Especially since I found one that was spectacular and new to me just tonight.

This one was along our rock road, and was obtaining nectar from a weedy prairie plant called hoary vervain.

This bee fly is quite a bit larger than other bee flies I have been seeing, and has a very loud buzz while flying.

Like other bee flies, it hovers in place while visiting flowers.

I for one am definitely tired of bee-flies, they are fascinating and your images are amazing.

Sorry, that was meant to read ‘definitely not tired of bee-flies!’
