A monarch butterfly visited our flowers yesterday.

I have heard talk about monarch numbers being lower than average this year.  In my experience, the numbers of most species of butterflies are low this year.  Monarchs are not noticeably rarer than other butterflies.   I have seen a few, which is typical for this time of year.

I posted today on the Raccoon River Watershed Association Facebook page about the eight plus Hymenoptera species on our prairie plants now. The only flutterbys have been Cabbages and a few E Tailed Blues. Big ones seem to be gone after a poor showing.
