Drying Up

I saw this flower the other day–shriveled and dried up.  It took me a little while to figure out what it was.


It is, of course, partridge pea–one of my favorite plants.  Here is what it looks like on a warm summer day:


Then at night the leaves close together, like the houseplant called “sensitive plant.”
