Small Stuff in the Fading Light

This time of year I start tracking the day length fairly closely.  There is a website where you can do that easily, and by the end of the week the days will be getting longer.

Today I got off of work a few minutes early, and temperatures were unusually high–in the upper 40s F.  That is about 8 degrees C.  I went outside an took some photos.

I was feeling pretty rusty–it has been a couple weeks since I have taken any macro photos.  I am also feeling sluggish from the amount of Christmas candy I have been eating.

This is wild bergamot.  It is a great flower for large butterflies but there were none today.

Cold weather will be back tomorrow.  Flowers and butterflies will return in four months or so.  Until then, we bundle up and try to get by.
