At least yesterday I wasn’t. I had Christmas shopping to do (and I hate to shop), and it was a gloomy, cloudy day. There was a thin layer of ice on the ground from freezing rain a few days ago. To make matters worse, someone hit our mailbox and pretty much destroyed it. Whatever hit it whacked it good. It would have done some damage to a car, but maybe not to a truck.
It pulled our neighbor’s mailbox completely out of the ground, but he was able to stick the post back in the ground and prop it up.
Pat got a mailbox as a retirement gift a few years ago. Yesterday the last thing I wanted to do was to mess around with the mailbox. But I got it done. Just in time as it turned out, because it snowed last night.
Pat used to work for the state in school bus transportation. It is a cute mailbox–I hope this one does not get damaged.
