Part of landscape photography is having the right equipment and knowing how to use it. Part of it is capturing the right moment.
This morning I went in to work and noticed the colors in the sky. I did not have the right equipment–I only had the camera on my cell phone. The settings on the camera are pretty limited. Still, the light was right.
If you are serious about photography, you need to go out sometime before sunset or sunrise with your camera and a tripod, and just wait for the light. Back in the days of film photography I had more time and did it many times–mostly for sunsets, but a few sunrises as well.
Go through the exercise–it changes the way you look at light.
Some will be duds–very little color. Some will be spectacular.
Simply gorgeous. Thank you for sharing the sunrise. WG
