Fall Color

We had a mild but rainy day today, and when I got home it seemed like several of the trees had turned color overnight. So I took some quick snapshots of the fall colors. This is autumn in Iowa.

Late Season, Comma

Yesterday was cool but sunny.  I saw this eastern comma flying slowly around then it landed on a tree trunk.  It stayed there while I went into the house and got my camera. Maybe the last butterfly of the year….
