Weekend Photos

We had great weather for people this weekend.  It was a little too windy and cool for butterfly photography, though.  Still, I did get some shots. The milkweeds are still in bloom, and still drawing in butterflies like this gray … Continue reading

Yesterday and Today

I went to Medora Prairie yesterday, which is a TNC preserve located east of New Virginia, Iowa.  This area is home to some of Iowa’s rarest butterflies.  While I did not see any of the rare ones, I did get … Continue reading

Another Change of Plans

Plans we had for today were changed, which was not such a bad thing.  I went to a couple of local parks, then to the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge, where I saw several bison, some of them up close. … Continue reading

I Can’t Walk Past a Puddle….

…without taking a picture. This was on a sidewalk in our yard.  I wasn’t all that happy with the result but I did enjoy the experience.  I got the knees of my jeans wet and muddy, and I loved it!

Today’s Ramblings

We had a sunny day today, not too cold.  I had the day off and I walked around the lawn and the prairie patch and took a few photos. I found a common milkweed and photographed it against the sky. … Continue reading
