I Have a Fish Now

I recently bought a male betta.  I am now the proud owner of one fish.  That would not be big news for most people but it sort of is for me.

Fishkeeping has been a big hobby/obsession for me in the past.  From about 1972 to about 2000 I pretty much had multiple aquariums going at any time.  When I got married I had different priorities so I put the aquariums in storage.

I am working on setting up a fish room in my basement, but I have a lot of work to do before it is complete. In the meantime I have one fish.

He has made a little bubble nest in the corner of the tank.  In nature, he would attract a female under it, where they would mate.  The eggs would float up into the nest, and the male would care for them for a few days until the fry disperse.

For now, I have one fish.  Red fish…

What fun! I had several aquarium going as a teenager. My mom said it sounded like boiling spaghetti in my bedroom! My betta was named Gorgeous George.

I love that you have a fish, Harlan! One step closer to the aquarium room!
