The Digger Bees are Back

I have a very large colony of digger bees living under my porch.  They showed up in numbers about Sunday of last week.  I was expecting them and watching for them.  I am not sure how much longer they will be around–a few days, or maybe a few weeks.  Unfortunately I was out of town for part of the time they have been around.

This one seemed to have some problems walking, but I got a good view of it grooming itself.

I am fascinated by these creatures and want to learn more about them, and also about the other organisms that seem to be associated with them.  I have posted some stories about the digger bees in the past–here and here.

So much to learn, so little time…
